Siegfried Engineering

March Lane Greenscape Trail

Siegfried is currently providing landscape architecture services for the East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD) and the City of Stockton to visually enhance an existing un-landscaped corridor that runs along March Lane. The design incorporates street trees and lawn areas along an existing meandering asphalt path. An added feature to the project is a dedicated portion for a 2,500 SF water-wise educational garden with a donation paver patio and information stations to familiarize the public about the gardens. The plants on display will have characteristics such as drought tolerant, California natives, low maintenance, fragrance, winter bloom, butterfly and bird habitats, terraced patio, and beneficial to native wildlife. The purpose of this project is to provide a usable community space that also provides beautification to a well established neighborhood. Public opinion is a major factor driving the design and Siegfried has established many strong relationships with community leaders, neighbors surrounding the project site, and EBMUD staff members. Our goal is to provide a compelling design that satisfies multiple stakeholders and provides a beneficial impact for our community. All design fees were donated to the City of Stockton and EBMUD. The donation of these services has contributed significantly to the City recently winning a Federal Urban Greening for Sustainable Communities Grant to fund the construction phase of the project.
